You should SERIOUSLY check out Rachel's recipe + video of mojitos, chips, and salsa at elephantine if you feel like pampering yourself with edibles. Unfortunately, I forgot to get mint, so we had a makeshift mojito. Sigh, next time. After my boy and I went together to get a few groceries for our epic meal, we managed to lock ourselves out of the house. The annoying thing was, we had prepared for this scenario because our garage door opener isn't on good terms with either of us at the moment, so we made sure to unbolt the front door. Of course, we forgot to unlock the storm door (which only locks from the inside of the house). After running around the house like chickens with our heads cut off (including my husband jumping the fence and hoping that his forgetful wife maybe left a back window open), we realized we had a screwdriver in my car (thanks to the practicality of my mom) and were able to take the siding off the storm door to shove our way in. You don't want to get in the way of two hungry people and groceries waiting to be made into a delicious meal!
Ah, my husband was sweet and made me even more food the next day. Le breakfast and le lunch:
I didn't mention that we also had an entire oreo cake + FREE oreos that came with the cake. Is it sad that the free oreos determined our purchase? I feel like I hadn't had an oreo in 200 years. Somehow we managed to conserve the bag this weekend, and we have about half the oreos left. The cake, however, didn't survive. I have a feeling the oreos will be nonexistent by tomorrow...er...or today.
What did you do this weekend?? Did you eat and get locked out too?
Oh!! Guys, I finally started the Photoshop tutorial this weekend. It'll be ready this week...hopefully tomorrow! Gotta sort through tons of screenshots and make sure this will be undestandable. Anyway, if you're interesting in learning how to put text, "tape," and drawn elements on a photo, stay tuned!

Sounds like an eventful weekend! Oreos are one of my true vices in life. All the food looks delicious!
Sarah: It was wonderful, minus the locked out part! Ooh, mine too. I have to be careful with them!
Ooh, sounds fun! And everything looks delicious, especially the breakfast food!
Yuummmm!!! I think I could live off of fresh pico, guacamole, chips and margaritas! It's so delicious!
Lovely blog :) I'm following you! Sorry you got locked out, I once locked myself out and tried to get in via a teeny tiny upper-window. Don't try it, you won't fit. I got stuck half in, half out, dangling and knocking on the inside of the window for my sister to come save me! I'm not quite sure why I'm sharing this embarrassing tale with you, but I thought it might make you smile :)
Kyla: Ah, yes, food is always a party! :) Thanks! That boy is getting pretty good, I think.
Jess: Oh geez, me too, lady!! Those little "homemade" chips top it off for me.
Nikki: Thank you so much! Wow. You had me laughing out loud!! Guess I should't feel sorry for myself. I'll take your advice and try not to crawl through small openings! Is it mean of me to wish I had been there? Don't worry, I would repay you by letting you see the horribly embarrassing things I do. I'm so glad you're here, Nikki!!
I've become super paranoid about checking my keys, after locking myself out of the house a few months ago :-) Glad you guys were able to break in!
can't go wrong there!!
Your foods look delicious! Acovado is my favorite thing on earth.
Yum! All that food looks absolutely mouth watering! What an eventful weekend - although the getting locked out doesn't sound ideal it's a great story!
Amazing! My fear of getting locked out of my home is equal to my fear of FORGETTING to lock my door when I leave. SIGH.
Gloria: Oh gosh, yeah, I have a feeling we'll become paranoid too. The last time I was locked out was in college, and I was able to walk downstairs and get an extra key. NOT this time! Thank you! We were so lucky, and we know it.
Rebecca: Thanks! Not showing the unhealthy stuff always make me feel better, ha.
Leah: Thank you! It was a pretty tasty weekend. I can totally sit there and eat an avocado by itself. It seriously IS the best!
Abby: Well, I would share some with you if I could! :) Ahhh stuff like that always happens to us. You'll hear more stories along the way. Hope you had a great weekend!
Rosa: Come over here and we'll make you some! Clay is frying up egg rolls as I type! I'll mail ya one. ;) Ha!! I think we're the same person.
Haha I'm glad my window-story made you laugh! Haha no that's not mean, it was a pretty pitiful sight. My sister and her boyfriend were on the other side of the window taking photos - that was mean! I am not so limber as I like to believe, it seems :D
Thank you for visiting me and commenting :) This food looks so yummy, I'm going to have to save this page so I can remember to make it soon :D
Nikki: Aw, poor girl! We would get along so well in real life because of our blunders! I'm the younger sister, so I always cause the laugh without meaning it. I'm not limber either...even when I did yoga a lot!
You're so welcome! Thank you so much for your comment here, love. Oh yes! Definitely check of elephantine for the full recipe. Her food always looks the best. Oh, and the guacamole is just smashed up avocados with a little skim milk mixed in, and we topped it off with grape tomatoes, a squeeze of lemon, and salt and pepper. Easy peasy!
